RHF-H builds on the RHF platform Forward Controls Design has produced since 2016, keeping the staggered M-LOK slots, round vent holes, and lack of built-in QD sockets that have defined the line, while adding thicker walls and a heavier, longer 17-4 barrel nut for genuinely improved rigidity. An ICON Defense-designed cam lock secures the handguard to that barrel nut, and heavy-duty anti-rotation tabs, familiar to anyone who's used HDSI or SOLGW handguards, keep it locked in place. A pin hole accepts an included dowel pin for uppers with a matching hole above the gas tube, such as FCD's own URF-F, HDSI, and SOLGW uppers.

Rather than chasing weight reduction for its own sake, RHF-H is built on the principle that removing material doesn't make a part stronger. Lightening cuts are used elsewhere in FCD's lineup only when they serve a real purpose, and they're designed to stay invisible to the end user. This handguard is intended for shooters who need a rail that holds up to hard, repeated use rather than one optimized primarily for lowest possible weight.
